Dance & Gymnastics Instructors
Celeste Agett is a graduate of the American Music and Dramatic Academy. She began singing & dancing at a very young age, which led to her love for performing and eventually her love for teaching and inspiring others to grow in their gifts. After training at AMDA and Broadway Dance Arts in NYC, Celeste traveled all over the United States as a professional singer/dancer. She landed in VA in 2002 when she was hired at Busch Gardens. She fell in love with the area and began her teaching career shortly after deciding to settle down in Virginia. Since then she has directed, choreographed, and taught dance, drama, & music, for over 12 years. Celeste and her husband have served in leadership with The City Life Church for over 10 years, including music ministry, children’s ministry, service coordinating, church governance team, and church finance team. She is excited to share her love and passion for music, dance, and the arts with the next generation.
Amanda Bowman is a passionate educator (and mommy!) who loves to help children reach their full potential in the dance studio. With over sixteen years of performance experience, her love for dance has always remained strong and devoted to bringing glory to God. For more than 11 years Amanda has taught children of all ages tap, jazz, ballet and praise. She even had the honor of teaching and choreographing performances for the PEEP program working with children with exceptional needs. Amanda’s love of teaching in the studio inspired her to earn an AAS in Early Childhood Education and a CSC in Managing Early Childhood programs. She taught for three years in the classroom as a NAEYC certified preschool teacher before she and her husband welcomed their first child in May of 2015. Amanda is thrilled to be a part of the BSA family and is looking forward to working with you and your child in the upcoming season!
Lynne Caris has been dancing since the age of 3, training in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, modern, and Pas De Duex. She has been teaching locally for over 20 years. Lynne trained in NYC as well as with companies such as Ballet Magnificat, Ad Deum Dance, and Nashville Tennessee Ballet. She was asked to join Ballet Mag in 1999 and she has also danced with a touring company that was internationally broadcasted. Lynne has performed with Masterworks for over 12 years. In all of her dance endeavorers, she most enjoys sharing her passion to dance with her students at BSA!
Gabrielle Willis has always had a passion for the performing arts. She received extensive ballet and dance training at the Academy of Ballet, Bethel School of the Arts, and Norfolk Academy. She has performed all over Virginia with the Hampton Roads Civic Ballet, The Word Drill team, and Bethel Dance Ministry. As a registered dietitian nutritionist, Gabrielle also enjoys teaching active dancers about the importance of eating right and fueling their bodies for peak performance. Ms. Willis aims to instill a joy of dance and life-long learning in her students. She is currently a member of the Elbert Watson Dance Company and runs the Bethel Dance Ministry at Bethel Temple.
Felecia Mobley is a native of Hampton Virginia and a Graduate of Norfolk State University where she studied Computer Science. Her Love for dance since age 3 has always been a part of her life. She has choreographed for Alicia Dudley Performing Arts, Norfolk State University, Vibrations Dance Company, Lyben Christian Dance School and many different church ministries. When not spending time with her husband and beautiful children, she is also a certified fitness instructor with YMCA. Felecia brings a unique vision to the world of dance with a background in sports, dance and fitness. She leads her classes with one approach “Be Relentless: Mind, Body, and Soul.” She has a passion to drive the heartbeat into your feet and up your spine, she delivers an unparalleled experience that motivates and compels you to push beyond perceived limitations and achieve your personal best.
Hannah Styron has been dancing all her life. She has studied various forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, contemporary, modern, lyrical, and partnering. Hannah has enjoyed assisting with gymnastics and dance classes through the Work Study Program at BSA. Her participation in Bethel Dance Company and the National Fine Arts competition has provided Hannah with a platform to worship the Lord through her gifts. Hannah plans to pursue a degree in musical theater with the hopes of one day starting her own Broadway and dance company. One of her greatest pleasures is to tell a story through dance; she hopes to inspire her students to do the same.
Jason Tucker is trained in hip-hop, partnering, swing, and Latin dance and he began teaching break dancing and hip-hop at BSA in 2011. Jason is also a leader in may other areas of his life including; Bethel Temple Small Groups, Youth Hip Hop Dance Ministry, and Facilitator Training. He is also a musician and believes that having a passion for dance and music enables him to create choreography that connects you to your inner rhythm, highlights your talents and challenges you to learn new skills. As we seek to Glorify Him with our gifts, we will reach our full potential!
Jackie Holly brings over 30 years of gymnastics coaching experience to BSA. She is a Gymnastic Professional Member and is USA Gymnastics Safety Certified. In addition to teaching gymnastics and tumbling at BSA, she is the director of Langley and Fort Eustis Gymnastics, coaches levels 5 to 9 and holds a degree in Marketing. Jackie is delighted to be teaching Gymnastics and Tumbling at BSA!
Music, Drama, Art, & Voice Instructors
Pamela Beaver began her music education at a very young age. From her very first music lesson, she knew she had a God-given love and passion for music. She started out playing the violin and then decided to learn the piano and flute. She has played in marching, concert and jazz bands and at the age of 14, she was asked to be a part of her church’s worship team. She has been involved in some form of Worship and Arts ever since. When not sitting at the piano, she can be seen driving a school bus for the York County School Division or spending time with her family. Her main focus in music lessons is to uncover and develop the gift and talent that God has placed within each of her students.
Jim Stanley is currently the Director of Bands at Phoebus High School. He has an extensive background in music which includes a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wester Michigan University and a Master of Music from Norfolk State University.
Jim has been a percussion clinician and private instructor for many individuals, high schools, colleges, and universities across the United States and internationally. He has also performed with national artists such as a Clark Terry, Gene Chandler, and Dr. Walker, and the All Stars. Other performances include the Hampton Jazz Festival with Aretha Franklin and David (Fathead) Newman. Jim is married to Patricia Stanley, and they reside in Hampton, VA.
Chris House is a native of Hampton, Virginia and a 2002, Music Education graduate of Hampton University. Chris currently serves as the Creative Arts Director at The City Life Church in Newport News, Virginia. He is a worship leader, songwriter, and producer who plays many instruments including drums/percussion, piano and guitar. He’s been blessed to receive endorsements from the Soultone Cymbal company of Los Cabos drumsticks. Chris’ appreciation for all genres of music have afforded him the opportunity to perform in the United States and abroad. He is a dedicated worshipper, husband, father and musician who is passionate about music and loves to share the gift of music with everyone!!
Nicole Michelle Aponte is a published author, speaker, award winning recording artist, singer-songwriter, worship leader and teacher. She studied voice and piano at Christopher Newport University and is currently working on a degree in Worship and Worshipping Arts at Bethel College. While she loves worshipping and performing, she is just as passionate about teaching music and art. The opportunity to encourage and equip others to develop their God given gifts is priceless. Nicole is excited to teach voice, piano, and art at Bethel School of the Arts!
Vanessa Smith is a native of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, but now resides in Hampton, Virginia with her husband. She has four children and two grandchildren. She studied the Suzuki method of violin at a young age, and taught her first student at the age of fifteen. Vanessa says, “I can humbly say teaching is rewarding when you love, and enjoy what you do, and look forward to continuously sowing seeds into others.” She also teaches flute and plays in the Chamber Workshop Studio Ensemble Group. She currently attends Bethel College of Hampton, where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Worship and Worshiping Arts Ministry. Vanessa believes that becoming a part of Bethel School of the Arts is not by chance, but through the divine appointment of God. “Being confident of this, that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians1:6) She is excited about this opportunity and looks forward to seeing what He will do. Joy Wootton is a graduate of Central Bible College, and has played piano since age 7. At age 12 she began accompanying church choirs and has had a lifetime of piano memories, including playing for the General Council of the Assemblies of God in 2013 and 2015. She currently serves as the piano accompanist for former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft. Married to Dr. Mark Wootton, president of Bethel College, they have four children and nine grandchildren.
Patricia Stanley is a native of Hampton, Virginia and a Graduate of Saint Leo University where she studied Business Administration, specializing in Management. She developed a love for singing at a very early age, and that love led her all over the country performing with numerous professional recording artists. Over the years, she has helped many who wanted to improve their vocal skills. In addition to directing Bethel Temple’s youth ensemble for the Potomac Youth Fine Arts Festival, Patricia worked in the Newport News Public School system for 11 years, teaching elementary to high school students. She has the gift of teaching and a heart to serve others especially those seeking to improve their gifts & skills.
