Ballet and Pointe are based on a combination of Vaganaova and Cecchetti techniques; these classes include teaching in body alignment, basic technique and body position. Ballet is a foundational technique and is crucial to the technical development of many styles of dance. Pointe is allowed only for levels II and up taking two or more ballet classes a week. Teacher’s approval is required. Level placement determined by the BSA instructors.
Contemporary requires strong technique and is constantly exploring new possibilities and breaking bounds by using ballet, modern, and jazz as a catalyst.
Hip Hop classes utilize upbeat music from various genres as well as the latest Christian Hip Hop hits. The resulting outcome is an energetic class that not only teaches you Hip Hop movements and technique, but also instills rhythm and precision in your muscle memory. Don’t worry parents – we keep all the choreography and music clean and appropriate!
Jazz consists of strong, sharp, and up-beat movements and is greatly aided by a background in ballet technique. Challenging the dancer to use the choreography to tell a story through expressive, passionate emotion.
Tap is a form of dance characterized by using ones shoes, as well as the floor, as a percussive instrument. As such, it is also commonly considered to be a musical form as well. Class placement is determined by the instructor.
Gymnastics focuses on gross motor skill development through learning to hang, swing, climb, bounce and the basic tumbling elements. Children who have demonstrated the ability to focus can work independently on skill progression stations while learning more advanced skills with and without a spotter as they gain confidence in their abilities.
Drama classes are a place where imagination and creativity are nurtured and encouraged. Through skits, improve exercises, audition experiences and different theater techniques students will gain confidence, stage presence and learn how to express themselves. We perform Christian skits that encourage using your talents to worship.
Musical Theater class will combine Dancing, Acting, and Singing and is for students interested in learning to do all three at the same time! It will expose students to the music theater world in a Godly and Encouraging Atmosphere.
Voice student’s will learn foundational vocal technique, basic music theory, and to sing group arrangements in a fun encouraging environment for all skill levels.
Private Instruction is great for students wanting individual focus to sharpen their technique and develop their skills.
